The
XH-100 & XH-150 (Extra High Pressure) mine dewatering pumps produces heads
up to 605 feet and flows up 2,400 GPM for an Arizona copper mine.
An Arizona copper mine was experiencing groundwater seepage and rainwater run-off into their numerous ponds. To resume mining copper 2,500 feet below ground level, the mine needed to remove 36.3 million gallons of water from the pit due to the recent monsoon season.
Because of this challenge, the mine purchased several high head, Stainless Steel pumps from Rain for Rent to handle the flow and the acidic water. The copper mine has one 6-inch XH-150 Stainless Steel Power Prime™ pump with a 1,000 gallon fuel tank, two 4-inch XH-100 Stainless Steel Power Prime™ pumps, several HH-150 Stainless Steel Power Prime™ pumps, and additional smaller stainless steel pumps to dewater the ponds. All these pumps are excellent for moving water in applications that require enough head capabilities to overcome the high wall of the mine. The XH-100 and XH-150 have 605 feet of head capacity.
Although the pumps are owned and operated by the mine, Rain for Rent personnel calibrate, align, and maintain the pumps on an on-call or weekly basis to ensure they are operating at optimum performance. Our “Pump Touch” service keeps the mine running and the pumps well maintained.
