Memphis, 120 MGD Bypass is the Largest Diameter Cured in Place Pipe (CIPP) Installation in the U.S.
The 108-inch sewer line rehabilitation project was the largest-diameter CIPP installation in the U.S. The contractor had already received a quote from another pump company, but asked if Rain for Rent could also provide a quote for the turnkey bypass project. High flow and high lifts required a large excavation to stage the pumps. The efficiency of the Rain for Rent DV-400 16-inch Power Prime™ pumps created the winning advantage. Using the larger pumps would necessitate fewer pumps and lower fuel costs. The project was set into motion with the installation of two sets of six DV-400 16-inch Power Prime™ pumps, 7,000 feet of 24-inch HDPE pipe complete with fittings and magnetic flow meters. Rain for Rent personnel manned the project and monitored the flows 24/7. The CIPP contractor successfully finished lining the 108-inch concrete line. The project was completed without incident and Rain for Rent was complimented on a job well done. The site superintendent stated that this was the most professional bypass installation he had seen.
