When it comes to oilfield work, safety is priority one. When an energy company in the Western U.S. decided to centralize some remote fracking operations to service 36 well pads from one location over a three-year period, they wanted a safe and effective water transfer system.
Rain for Rent designed and provided a turnkey transfer – effectively reducing risk by having a single vendor with intimate knowledge of the site.
Specialized OSHA approved scaffolding and pipe-supporting PipeStax™ reduced risk to the energy company’s employees on the job site. The 20 tank 50 BBL/minute water transfer system pumped water up to 2.5 miles with 700 feet in elevation gain while maintaining 650 PSI.
“I shoot for zero spills and this setup gives me the confidence we aren’t going to have any.”
PipeStax modular cribbing were used to hold pipe at custom, work friendly heights in front of and on top of the tanks This provided a top fill line without the use of hoses, which was very important to the energy company. Scaffolding allowed personnel to easily operate and observe the fill lines on top of the tanks, without climbing up and down continuously.
The system’s safe design with manifolding supported by PipeStax, reduced the chance for spills on the site. The Completions Superintendent said, “I shoot for zero spills and this setup gives me the confidence we aren’t going to have any.”
