150 Million Gallon Water Transfer in 10 Days Aids Drought-Stricken CA Area
Canal flow of 30 CFS reversed in Central California using Rain for Rent’s 28,000 GPM pumpsView PDF
A Central California water banking agency needed to transfer water back to a Northern California city due to drought conditions. The canals used to transfer the water only flow in one direction, which required flow reversal at 30 CFS, 24 hours per day during a short time frame.
Rain for Rent installed two systems to reverse the flow at two bottleneck locations. The pumping system allowed the customer to supply a consistent flow of water to meet the drought needs of the Northern California city.
Both systems were installed safely and on-time.
The tight job location was safely navigated by conducting daily Job Safety Analyses and Tailgate meetings each morning.
Fuel nurse tanks and alarm agents prevented the need for pump watch.
150,000,000 gallons of water were moved in 10 days.
The water storage district was able to meet their customer’s water needs due to the safe and prompt system installation and plan to use Rain for Rent on an upcoming project.
