Food Processing Bypass Becomes Integral System

Temporary bypass performs beyond expectations over two years.

An eastern U.S. food processing plant’s sanitary upgrades proved difficult for the surrounding infrastructure.

Together with Rain for Rent, engineers designed a temporary bypass and treatment system. The system included pH modification and flocculent dosing for better solids handling.

Flow from the processor plant was redirected into a sump where submersible pumps fed the effluent into mixer tanks for treatment. From the tank, a DV100 pump fed two Oil Water Separators which helped remove oil from the system.

AnDRU boxes and radar level gauges on tanks along the treatment system helped to keep the contractor aware of water levels 24/7 with automated alarms and shutoffs.

What began as an 8 month project will now run for 24 months. The bypass and pH adjustment worked so well, the contractor initiated talks to have Rain for Rent sell the system to the processing plant.
