75 MGD Bypass for Wastewater Treatment
Contractor costs reduced by efficient pumps, hydrotested HDPE lines
In February 2012, an expanding waste treatment plant required a screened sewage bypass of up to 75 MGD to tie new construction into the existing wastewater infrastructure.
The plant’s contractors chose Rain for Rent’s two-pump bypass solution. The smaller footprint of three 24-inch DV600c pumps with one 16-inch DV400c back up pump fit the limited space constraints at the plant and utilized less diesel fuel throughout the continuous month-long bypass.
The successful bypass was spill-free due to Rain for Rent’s best management practices of stamping the HDPE to secure the welds and hydrotesting the system, which reduced the cost for the plant’s contractor.
All Rain for Rent employees are OSHA trained and emphasize safety on every jobsite. As a result, the contractors were able to focus on the rest of their project knowing the bypass was in good hands.
